Juan is a professional with a strong foundation in Fitness, Wellness, and Learning and Development. With a degree in Physical Education and an MBA in Business Management and Marketing, he has a diverse career spanning twenty-plus years in personal training, physical education teaching, physical therapy, and sales and marketing in the fitness equipment industry. His adventurous spirit is evident in his experience as a personal chef, caterer, cooking instructor, and small business entrepreneur.

In his upcoming book, Navigating Fitness, Juan offers practical fitness and wellness education and advice for non-exercise-oriented individuals and those who can't keep up with overwhelming fad practices.

Currently, Juan excels as an instructor for technical health and wellness programs. He creates and manages content for nutrition, personal training, and physical therapy aide courses. His experience extends to supporting mental, behavioral, and psychiatric health technical programs. A skilled researcher, Juan stays up-to-date on industry trends and translates his findings into engaging content. He has written articles on learning practices, technology, business, ethics, and inclusion. 

Beyond his professional duties, Juan is a passionate advocate for unconventional fitness, learning, and eating. He runs a bilingual newsletter and podcast, Vertientes y Tangentes (Slopes and Tagents), where he explores a variety of topics. There he writes and talks about the complexities and dark side of the fitness industry, physical literacy and education for adults, and intuitive fitness. He also shares about food and cooking, and personal storytelling.
